Happy new year, beautiful souls!
This is the first new moon of the astrological year which has just begun with the equinox and the change of seasons. As you know, Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, a fire sign that speaks of new beginnings. Now, this year we are having not one but two new moons in the sign of Aries: the first new moon occurs on March 21st at the very first degree of Aries, and the second Aries new moon will occur on April 20th at the very last degree of Aries.
I feel like we are given an opportunity this year not only to start anew, but actually to master this new step in our lives.
You should find the house in your natal chart which has Aries in its beginning. This is the area of your life’s experience that you can start over again. There can be renewed willingness to do something, to assert yourself and take action. And you can make an excellent start, a start which can gain traction especially after the second Aries New Moon on April 20th.
March 21st: Aries New Moon #1
Sun and Moon conjunct at Aries 0°49’ - critical first degree of the zodiac (Aries is the first sign)!
This is a time to give birth to something totally new. A new idea or a new passion, which brings about fresh energy and the sprouting of some sort of new beginning in our lives.
All planets are direct, there is no retrogradation. And there are four planets in Aries now and that’s significant too. We can be just moving on and making things happen, and the winds are mostly overall favorable!
Sun and Moon sextile Pluto at Aquarius 29°58’ - critical last degree of Capricorn, the last Earth sign of the zodiac
Although this time really feels like a brand new beginning, there can actually be deeper motivations behind our actions now. Pluto speaks of a much deeper reality, one that may be buried in our consciousness, a deep emotion which may not even be totally ours. It can be generational, or it can even be social. Either way, there are deep emotions around this which we would not dare to touch. Well, we should touch this deeper reality, especially now that it may be a little easier to do so, because that’s where our power resides.
Now, what Pluto does is that it demands transformation and regeneration. Pluto challenges us to remove all the heavy layers preventing us from shining our essential light.
So, we are not actually generating something, rather we are regenerating something in our souls and in our lives. We have an opportunity to regenerate selfishness, anger and aggressiveness, all shadowy traits of Aries. We have an opportunity to regenerate our desires and our will to power.
Sun, Moon and Mercury (exact) in Aries in an inconjunction with the South Node in Scorpio
Mars, co ruler of Scorpio (along with Pluto)
Pluto square the Nodes
There are choices we need to make and we must understand that choosing one option is declining another option. The South Node in Scorpio speaks of things we are supposed to leave in the past, things which have been controlling us to a greater extent and which we are supposed to transform. Well, this is the time to break these chains, whatever they are for you. It’s time to set yourself free from what has become oppressive in your life, be it a relationship, a job, a limiting condition.
Pluto in square to the Nodes will guarantee that this reality is transformed, this reality about you and your life that makes you feel powerless, to some extent or completely. It will begin to be transformed, but we must be aware that transformations are never totally easy and painless. Actually, it can be pretty hard.
When we face the need to transform, we inevitably get to know some of our strongest emotions and fears, and the need to face them. Like I have mentioned about Saturn in my last video, Pluto’s ways are also hard to understand and certainly bring about the worst in many people, but still, that’s how Pluto helps us know ourselves better. Pluto reveals to us, by contrast, how much better we can become, by transforming the worst in ourselves. Pluto reveals our inner strength, our inner light and capacity to transform and to regenerate.
Sun, Moon and Mercury in Aries square Mars in the last degrees of Gemini
Mars, ruler of Aries
I have mentioned in the videos I made about Mars transits last year how Mars is the agent of will power in our souls. Mars is the ruler of Aries and it provides this sign with audacity, initiative, assertion and a warrior spirit. Aries helps us fight for what we want, but then comes the question: what is it that we truly want? What is it that our soul truly desires out of life?
And that’s when it becomes utterly important that we know the difference between our selfish egoic desires and our spiritual will. That is the only way we can prevent ourselves from being selfish, overly combative, aggressive or just a fool.
Mars is the ruler of Aries and thus, ruler of this New Moon - and the next one too, which will occur at Aries critical last degree. Yes, again, we have a double Aries new moon this year! This is a time to master the warrior within, to master your spiritual will.
Mars in Gemini inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn
There is a need to mature. There is a need to choose spiritual will rather than egoic will. Choose true self-empowerment, manifested in concrete manners, rather than having it only in your mind and speech. Choose to submit to your own spiritual will, to have control over yourself, over your egotistical tendencies, rather than wanting to have control over others.
Mars is Gemini is a bold energy that helps us take the initiative to express ourselves, have the courage to communicate something and convince others through our speech. But if we use this unwisely, for egotistical purposes, or if we have no control over our speech, there can be exaggeration which will generate stress. This can actually ruin our brand new beginnings. So don’t exceed your desire, don’t overextend your actions to get what you want. There is a great chance that others will take us as rash and even arrogant.
So, there needs to be alignment with the soul in order for this energy to express in a balanced and appropriate manner. Or it may just lead to selfish and foolish actions.
Venus exactly conjunct the North Node in Taurus
Venus has just been in a sextile with Saturn in Pisces, which is tightening harmonic aspects with the Nodes
This is a time when we really get exactly what we have become worthy of. So, we must be worthy of what we want, if we really want it.
There is no way of deceiving the universe. Energy is all around you, reflecting just exactly who you are. The universe knows who you are, knows your essential being, your true will. And it will give you just what you believe you’re worthy of. That means there is no way of deceiving yourself either. You have to feel that you really deserve what you want, that you have done a good job and can take what comes next, after your will is fulfilled.
So, be honest with yourself. Be willing to accept your flaws and their consequences, but don’t forget to recognize your merits and accept rewards for them. And above all, never forget your spiritual value.
Saturn in harmonic aspects with the Nodes and soon Mars
Saturn in Pisces is helping us release and let go of what we know must stay in the past, of what we know we must transform because we can be more aware of what is ultimately important now.
This is helping us understand how important it is that we transcend the realities that have made us feel powerless, relationships that have been a source of emotional struggle, situations that make us enact our traumas repeatedly, on and on.
It 's enough! It’s time to set yourself free, set your mind and heart free.
Blessed be. 🙇
